The Build

Built To Work & Play

A bright-white Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JLU built to wheel hard. The foundation is the EVO Manufacturing Double ThrowDown system — EVO-spec King 2.5-inch coilovers and bypass shocks up front and King 2.5-inch coilovers out back, riding on EVO long arms up front and Enforcer control arms in the rear, with heavy-duty adjustable trackbars and up to 14 inches of wheel travel. Billet reservoir mounts tidy up the King shocks' remote cans and limit straps keep the suspension from over-extending at full droop. Steering is handled by an Apex 2.5-ton setup with a King steering stabilizer and a Synergy Mfg steering and track bar brace, with RockJock Antirock sway bars front and rear. To put the power down through 38s, it's geared 5.13 and runs a Dana 44 Ultimate front axle with an Eaton E-Locker for traction when the going gets technical. The rubber is a set of 38-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers, and Rockslide Engineering steps handle getting in and out.

The Details

The Foundation

The EVO Manufacturing Double ThrowDown system is the heart of this build. EVO-spec King 2.5-inch coilovers and bypass shocks handle the front, with King 2.5-inch coilovers out back — all built by King to EVO's proprietary spring rates and valving. EVO long arms locate the front, Enforcer control arms handle the rear, and heavy-duty adjustable trackbars keep everything planted. It's a high-clearance long-arm setup with up to 14 inches of wheel travel and an adjustable 3-to-5-inch ride height — engineered, as EVO puts it, for the guys who like to go fast. Billet reservoir mounts tidy up the King shocks' remote cans, and limit straps keep the suspension from over-extending at full droop.

Steering & Bracing

Big travel needs steering that can keep up. This JLU runs Apex 2.5-ton steering up front with a King steering stabilizer, reinforced by a Synergy Mfg steering and track bar brace that keeps the geometry tight. RockJock Antirock sway bars front and rear balance body roll against articulation — controlled on the street, compliant on the trail.

Geared and Locked

Big tires need the right gearing, so this JLU is geared 5.13 to turn the 38s without working the drivetrain to death. Up front, a Dana 44 Ultimate axle with an Eaton E-Locker gives real traction the moment the trail gets technical — push a button, lock the front, and keep moving.

Rubber & Steps

Rolling stock is a set of 38-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers — the hybrid that splits the difference between an all-terrain and a mud-terrain, quiet on the street and capable when the pavement ends — mounted to Black Rhino Primm wheels. Rockslide Engineering steps make getting in and out easy and double as functional sliders on the trail.
